Garden safely, comfortably, and confidently at every stage of life. This hands-on program explores practical strategies for managing common gardening challenges—from repetitive strain and joint or muscle discomfort to changes in energy, balance, or mobility.
Participants will learn safe gardening techniques, ways to conserve energy, pain-management strategies, and how adaptive tools can make garden tasks easier and more accessible. This session is designed to help gardeners stay active and continue enjoying their gardens for years to come. This workshop is open to gardeners of all ages and abilities.
Casey Orange, OTD is a 2026 graduate of Widener University’s occupational therapy program. Her doctoral capstone project, Gardening for Life, applies occupational-therapy principles to support lifelong participation in gardening through practical, adaptable strategies.
