Growing Organic: Vegetable Gardening in the Tri-State Area

Ready to grow your best vegetable garden yet, without synthetic chemicals? Join Toni Farmer for an informative talk on organic vegetable gardening tailored to our corner of the tri-state area. Toni will walk through what it takes to grow healthy, productive crops in our USDA Zone 7 climate, from building rich, living soil to timing plantings around our spring frosts and summer heat. Whether you're planning your first raised bed or looking to refresh a well-established plot, you'll come away with practical, season-ready ideas just in time for planting.

Toni Farmer is an adjunct professor at both the University of Pennsylvania and RowanUniversity in the department of Earth and Environmental Science. At Penn, she teaches Regenerative Agriculture and Integrated Pest Management and at Rowan she teaches The Future of Food, a class about the impact of climate change on agriculture. Toni appears every Tuesday on Fox29 Philadelphia at 3:30pm helping tri-state regional viewers with garden tips. Learning to grow food is a critical tool for healthy food access. You can find her on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook as ToniFarmersGarden.
