Invasive plants take the fun out of gardening. They arrive unannounced, thrive on neglect and make a land grab before we realize they’re crashing our garden party. What characteristics define an invasive plant, why are there so many of them, and when we find them in our home landscapes how do we manage them? Several of the worst invasives will be discussed, as well as native plants to grow instead.
