Cultivar Controversy

This talk will discuss different kinds of cultivated varieties (selections, hybrids, etc), their origins, their utility, and of course whether or not they are serving our ecosystem the same as the straight species. It will also cover why origin of varieties matters, what traits make plants less (or possibly more) attractive to pollinators and birds, such as better disease resistance and vigor, etc.
