Native Shrubs for Home and Habitat

This talk will focus on our native shrubs and what they can bring to your garden or home landscape, as well as what they offer our community of native insects and wildlife. We’ll stroll through the seasons and get to know our native shrubs from a form and function point of view, while immersing ourselves in the “now” — the lush colors and textures of the fall garden.

Julie Snell is the co-owner of Redbud Native Plant Nursery and founding principal of TEND landscape architects. She has degrees in Fine Arts and Landscape Architecture, is a Certified Arborist and is an adjunct professor at Temple University. At TEND, she collaborates with diverse groups on landscape operations, and at Redbud, she helps clients create vibrant native gardens. Julie currently serves as Vice President of the Ecological Landscape Alliance Board of Trustees.
